Community Supports

There are multiple organizations within Omaha that provide various services to individuals who are suffering from Major Depressive Disorder. Various services include Emergency Community Supports, Worksource, Day Programs, Mental Health Respite, and Community Support. In order to be eligible for community supports, many organizations require a Severe Persistent Mental Illness(SPMI) that must be “recurrent” for at least a year documented by a mental health professional such as an APRN, PA, or a psychiatrist. The eligible diagnoses include:
  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective
  • Major Depression(MDD)
  • Bipolar Disorder

These organizations will often assist with daily living skills, finding housing, vocational skills, finding transportation, stabilizing mental health symptoms, and accessing community various resources.
